Chief of Public Security chairs RAP Scientific Council meeting

The Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Royal Police Academy (RAP), chaired a meeting of the council. The Deputy Chief of Public Security, Major-General Dr. Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the Commandant of the Royal Police Academy, Major-General Fawaz Hassan Al Hassan, and other council members attended. 

At the beginning of the meeting, the Chief of Public Security emphasised the vital role of the Scientific Council in advancing security education, in line with the vision of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to enhance academic outcomes and develop qualified national cadres. He praised RAP efforts in offering advanced postgraduate programmes that equip personnel with the knowledge and skills required for modern policing.

He highlighted that such meetings are pivotal in reviewing and developing academic curricula to keep pace with the evolving fields of security and policing sciences, thereby strengthening future readiness and operational excellence.

The meeting discussed preparations for the upcoming graduation ceremonies of new postgraduate batches. A ceremony is being planned in cooperation with the University of Huddersfield to celebrate the graduation of 51 students from the Master’s programmes in Human Rights and Criminal Justice, and Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics.

Additionally, the council reviewed preparations for another ceremony marking the graduation of 158 students from the Academy’s postgraduate programmes, including Master's degrees in Administrative and Security Sciences, Criminal and Police Sciences, and Crisis Management.

The meeting also addressed several topics focused on enhancing educational and research curricula to boost the capabilities of security authorities by investing in academically and professionally qualified personnel.
