The Director-General of Civil Defence, Brigadier Ali Mohammed Al Kubaisi, visited the Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard (ASRY) to assess the company’s facility readiness and its implementation of safety and prevention measures.
The visit included an inspection tour of the industrial facilities, followed by a meeting with the executive management, during which mechanisms for cooperation in developing safety systems and exchanging expertise were discussed.
The Director-General stressed the importance of sustaining cooperation between Civil Defence and major industrial establishments, praising ASRY’s efforts in promoting occupational safety and its adherence to best safety standards in the sector.
This visit forms part of a comprehensive programme implemented by the General Directorate of Civil Defence aimed at enhancing public safety across the Kingdom. The programme focuses on strengthening safety systems in industrial facilities, monitoring compliance with occupational safety requirements, and improving coordination and joint preparedness to address potential emergencies. These efforts contribute to accident prevention, safeguarding lives and property, and supporting the stability of the industrial work environment.
