Civil Defence conducts a training programme to engage volunteers in emergency response services

MOI

As part of its strategy to enhance community partnership and promote a culture of volunteerism, the General Directorate of Civil Defence has launched a training programme for volunteers from various civil defence fields. The initiative was organised in collaboration with the Directorate of Crisis and Disaster Management, the Civil Defence School, and Nabdat Hayat Training and Development Centre. It aims to equip participants with the skills necessary to respond effectively to emergencies and to empower them to support both operational and awareness-raising efforts led by the directorate.

The programme included a comprehensive orientation tour for the participants, introducing them to the various directorates within Civil Defence and familiarising them with field operations, particularly in support of the national response framework.

In addition, the programme featured a series of specialised theoretical and practical workshops. These included training in basic first aid and emergency injury response, fire prevention and the use of firefighting equipment, home and facility safety, fire risk awareness, and an introduction to the National Civil Protection Platform, highlighting how to utilise its educational and training content.

This initiative is part of a series of programmes prepared by the General Directorate of Civil Defence in cooperation with the Directorate of Crisis and Disaster Management. It aims to promote the content of the National Civil Protection Platform, strengthen community preparedness, and foster greater integration among national emergency response stakeholders.
