The CE of the Financial Intelligence National Centre, Shaikha May bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, led Bahrain’s delegation to the second meeting of Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs) of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), held in Kuwait.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation among the GCC’s FIUs in combating money laundering and terrorist financing. Key areas of focus included strengthening the effectiveness of information exchange and coordination with regional and international entities involved in anti-money laundering, counterterrorism financing, and associated predicate offences. The participating delegations also reviewed and discussed key topics of mutual interest.
