The Capital Governorate Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Bahrain Airport Police Directorate of the General Directorate of Ports Security, arrested three Asian nationals — including a woman — within less than 24 hours, for stealing from a gold shop in Manama. The suspects stole gold jewellery valued at approximately 2,376 Bahraini Dinars and exchanged it with counterfeit items.
The Directorate indicated that upon receiving a report of the incident, search and investigation procedures were immediately initiated, leading to the identification and arrest of the suspects. It was revealed that the woman deceived the store by claiming ownership of old gold jewellery and requested an exchange. After completing the transaction, it was later discovered that the jewellery provided was fake.
The Capital Governorate Police clarified that, in coordination with Bahrain International Airport Police, the woman and two of her relatives were arrested before attempting to leave the Kingdom. Legal procedures have been taken, and the case is being referred to the Public Prosecution.
