The Anti-Cyber Crimes Directorate of the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security has arrested an individual, 27, for misusing social media and engaging in illegal activities by posting content that violates moral values.
The directorate clarified that, as part of its ongoing monitoring of content published on social media platforms, a violative post shared by the individual on one of the platforms was detected. The directorate immediately intensified its investigation efforts, which led to the identification and arrest of the offender. Legal proceedings have been taken, and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
The Anti-Cyber Crimes Directorate urged everyone to comply with the laws and regulations and to uphold national and moral responsibilities when using social media. It called on users to refrain from publishing or circulating any content that violates the law or harms the reputation of the Bahraini society. The Directorate affirmed that all legal measures will be taken against anyone who misuses these platforms in order to preserve public order and safeguard societal values.
