Southern Governorate Launches the Sixth Edition of Social Security Programme

MOI

In line with the keenness and follow-up of His Highness Southern Governor, Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, the Southern Governorate launched the sixth edition of His Highness the Governor's Social Security Programme for 2025. This builds on the successes achieved by previous editions of the programme, reflecting the Governorate's pioneering role in promoting the concept of community partnership and activating initiatives targeting the youth.

The programme comprises structured workshops and field visits, conducted jointly with the Ministry of Interior directorates and public and private entities, designed for teenagers aged 12-15.

The first programme activity featured a traffic awareness workshop and field visit, organised by the General Directorate of Traffic. This interactive approach cultivates civic responsibility while developing essential security awareness skills.

The programme incorporates expertise from multiple security authorities, including the General Directorate of Traffic, the General Directorate of Civil Defence, the Community Police Division of the Southern Governorate Police Directorate, the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security, the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Evidence and the National Ambulance. It further integrates the Maan (together) programme against violence and addiction, and AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation.

The programme cultivates security awareness and personal development among youth through purposeful engagement, fostering initiative, civic responsibility, and resilience to address future societal challenges.
