The Northern Governor Ali bin Al Shaikh Abdulhussain Al Asfoor, met with the Chairman of the Bahrain Autism Society, in the presence of the governorate's heads of the directorates, to discuss collaboration on a summer programme for individuals with autism. The initiative, part of the Healthy Governorate Accreditation Programme, is to be delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development, supervised by the Society and parents, with support from volunteers and the Paramedic Academy.
During the meeting, the Northern Governor reaffirmed the governorate’s steadfast commitment to empowering individuals with autism spectrum disorder and supporting those with special needs through inclusive, community-focused initiatives. He highlighted the value of sustaining high-quality programmes that align with families' hopes and foster participants' development in a safe, nurturing environment. The three-week initiative, commencing Saturday, 19 July 2025, will feature diverse activities to promote social integration and enhance behavioural and interpersonal skills.
