As part of its ongoing efforts to ensure maritime safety, address violations, and uphold the rule of law, the Coast Guard carried out a joint inspection campaign at diving centres across various governorates of the Kingdom. The campaign was conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), the Muharraq and Capital Governorate Police Directorates, and the Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs (NPRA).
The campaign aimed to verify the implementation of marine safety measures at diving centres, ensure expatriate workers' compliance with residency and labour laws, and inspect fishing gear and diving gas cylinders. Several violations were detected during the campaign, and the necessary legal actions were taken against the offenders.
The Coast Guard emphasised the importance of adhering to laws and regulations governing maritime and fishing activities, affirming that such inspection campaigns will continue periodically to identify and address violations, thereby contributing to enhanced public safety.
