As part of its ongoing efforts to safeguard the marine environment and security, Coast Guard patrols have seized a total of 69 illegal fishing traps (Gargoor), in addition to five prohibited fishing nets and three bottom trawl nets (Koffa), in separate incidents across various areas in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Coast Guard confirmed that the necessary legal procedures have been taken regarding the violations. It reiterated its continued commitment to monitoring and enforcing maritime regulations to combat all forms of marine violations. These efforts reflect the Coast Guard's role in protecting marine resources, enhancing environmental security, and supporting marine sustainability through the enforcement of applicable laws and regulations in the Kingdom.
