As part of the Coast Guard's ongoing efforts to maintain maritime security and protect the marine environment, maritime patrols arrested two individuals for violating fishing regulations related to the use of nets and traps in the sea area near Askar.
A total of 26 illegal fish traps (Gargoor) and 17 prohibited fishing nets were confiscated.
The Coast Guard confirmed that the necessary legal procedures have been completed in preparation for referring the case to the Public Prosecution, emphasising its ongoing commitment to addressing such violations to preserve marine resources and uphold the laws and regulations in force in the Kingdom.
