His Highness Southern Governor Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, presided over the eighth Security Committee meeting of 2025, attended by Deputy Southern Governor Colonel Hamad Mohammed Abdullah Al Khayyat, Deputy Director-General of the Southern Governorate Police Directorate Colonel Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and representatives from the Ministry of Interior’s security bodies.
During the meeting, HH the Southern Governor commended the unwavering efforts of security authorities in reinforcing safety across the Southern Governorate. He reaffirmed the Committee’s commitment to implementing the directives of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, and addressing residents’ needs. He also lauded the ongoing collaboration between the governorate and security bodies, and expressed appreciation for HE the Interior Minister’s recent interaction with the local citizens.
He further praised the joint efforts of the General Directorate of Traffic and security directorates in safeguarding public facilities and enhancing overall safety across the governorate. He also highlighted their strong cooperation with the governorate in promoting community partnership.
The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) reported on intensified campaigns in Riffa targeting irregular workers, with 149 operations and over 7,000 inspections. HH the Southern Governor commended the collaboration between the Labour Market Regularly Authority and security bodies, stressing their role in curbing illegal practices and underscoring the importance of sustained efforts to uphold social security.
He highlighted the importance of ongoing summer initiatives at youth centres to foster security awareness, encourage civic participation, and educate a strong sense of community partnership.
At the meeting’s conclusion, the representatives of the security directorates praised HH the Southern Governor for his leadership in advancing security and community initiatives, guided by a model of exemplary community partnership.
