The Director of Police Media at the General Directorate of Media and Security Culture, Lt.Col Hind Thawadi, participated in a workshop titled “The Role of Security Media in Highlighting Sustainable Development Efforts”, held at the Police Media Training and Research Institute under the Media and Public Relations Sector at the Egyptian Ministry of Interior in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The workshop reviewed ongoing efforts to modernise and develop practices related to the role of security media in supporting sustainable development, in line with rapid advancements in both the security and media fields. Discussions focused on enhancing the impact of media messaging and reinforcing the interdependent relationship between security and development through regular media campaigns, leveraging modern technologies and artificial intelligence, and monitoring misinformation that undermines security and development efforts.
The workshop also addressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between security media authorities, development stakeholders, and media outlets to facilitate data exchange and unify media messages. Additionally, it called for integrating sustainable development themes into security media training programmes and promoting partnerships with educational institutions to raise community awareness on the critical role of security as a foundation for development and stability.
