Director- General of Traffic: Royal Decree amending Traffic Law marks a qualitative leap in traffic system

Director-General of Traffic Major General Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa affirmed that the Royal Decree issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which includes substantial amendments to the Traffic Law, reflects the royal approach and the government’s continuous commitment to safeguarding lives and property. He praised the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, regarding the strict enforcement of penalties for traffic violations and accidents resulting in serious injuries or fatalities, as well as the instructions of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, to take all necessary legal measures under the Traffic Law and its executive regulations, contributing to the protection of lives and property and the enforcement of the law.

 

He expressed the General Directorate of Traffic’s pride in the Minister of Interior’s commendation of the Directorate’s efforts, through field monitoring and awareness campaigns, which aim to reinforce road safety and promote adherence to traffic laws among all road users.

 

The Director-General of Traffic noted that the amendments to the Traffic Law, under the Royal Decree, represent a qualitative leap in the traffic system and lay the foundation for a new phase of compliance and discipline. They reflect a commitment to fostering a responsible traffic culture. He also emphasised that the General Directorate of Traffic will work to implement these amendments effectively, in parallel with intensifying awareness campaigns and field monitoring.
