The Ministry of Interior announced that the Child Protection in Cyberspace Unit at the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption, Economic and Electronic Security arrested a 67-year-old man for exploiting and luring several children and harassing them by calling out to them and offering money while standing in public areas.
The unit explained that after receiving information on the matter, specialised teams carried out investigations, gathering evidence that led to identifying the suspect. All necessary legal measures were taken to refer the case to the Public Prosecution.
The unit stressed the importance of family awareness and continuous parental supervision, urging parents to build trust with their children and encourage them to report any harassment or exploitation attempts. It also highlighted the need for immediate reporting of any activity threatening children’s safety through calling 33523300 or the hotline 992, email: cpcu@interior.gov.bh, MyGov App, or in person at the relevant authorities.
