The Interior Ministry announced that the General Directorate of Traffic organised a series of awareness lectures for school transport drivers in both the public and private sectors, as part of its preparations for the new academic year and in line with its commitment to ensuring the safety of students.
The lectures aimed to enhance drivers’ awareness of the importance of adhering to safe and proper transport practices by familiarising them with the correct procedures to be followed during the transport process to guarantee students’ safety.
During the lectures, the directorate emphasised the need to strictly comply with traffic laws and regulations, including observing speed limits, avoiding driving in restricted lanes, refraining from exceeding the permitted number of passengers, and ensuring proper parking at school sites to prevent traffic congestion. Drivers were also urged to cooperate with Community Police personnel and school guards to facilitate traffic flow around educational institutions.
