As part of ongoing efforts to protect marine resources and ensure the sustainability of natural wealth, the Ministry of Interior announced that the Coast Guard seized 770 illegal fishing traps (gargoor) and 8 illegal fishing nets in August.
The Coast Guard explained that the necessary legal measures were taken regarding these violations. It noted that these actions come within the framework of an intensive inspection campaign aimed at reducing marine violations and ensuring fishermen’s compliance with the laws and regulations in force, thereby safeguarding Bahrain’s marine environment and resources.
