As part of the Interior Ministry’s efforts to strengthen international cooperation in maritime safety and security, the Coast Guard participated in the inaugural meeting of Working Group Three (WG3), under the Djibouti Code of Conduct and Jeddah Amendments (DCoC/JA). The meeting was held in Kenya, with the participation of representatives from maritime security agencies and coast guards from 20 countries, under the auspices of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO).
The working group aims to enhance maritime domain awareness, develop mechanisms for joint surveillance and intervention, activate information exchange and operational coordination, and support efforts to combat piracy, smuggling, illicit trafficking, and illegal fishing, in addition to promoting the integration of modern technologies into the maritime security framework.
