The Public Security Sports Association concluded the Police Open 3x3 Basketball Championship, hosted at Muharraq Club Sports Hall, in the presence of the Inspector-General, Major-General Abdullah Mohammed Al Zayed, along with several directors and officials from the Interior Ministry.
The Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) team secured the championship title after defeating the Capital Governorate Police Directorate team in the final match with a score of 21–20, in a contest marked by intensity and intense competition between the two sides.
On this occasion, the Inspector-General affirmed that the Police Open Basketball Championship reflects the Interior Ministry’s commitment to promoting sports among its personnel, thereby strengthening teamwork and encouraging the adoption of sports as a lifestyle, which positively impacts professional performance.
For his part, President of the Association Brigadier Khalid Abdulaziz Al Khayyat, explained that organising the championship comes within the programmes to encourage sports in the police work environment and enhance positive competitiveness among ministry personnel. He noted that the championship featured the participation of 12 teams representing various Interior Ministry directorates and sections, in addition to several Bahraini national basketball players who joined as professionals, reinforcing community partnership.
