The Coast Guard seized a vessel carrying 296 kilograms of shrimp on the coast of Malkiya. The catch had been taken using bottom trawling nets (karaf), which are prohibited under Ministerial Resolution No. 205 of 2018.
The Coast Guard confirmed that the necessary legal measures were taken and the case was referred to the Public Prosecution. It reiterated its commitment to addressing violations related to fishing practices and equipment, ensuring that seafarers and fishermen comply with the laws and regulations in this regard.
