Chief of Public Security receives GCC joint Coast Guard security team

The Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, received the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) joint security team, comprising members of the Coast Guard and Border Guard commands of the GCC Interior Ministries, along with the GCC Secretariat General, on the occasion of their visit to the Bahrain Coast Guard. The Acting Coast Guard Commander was also present.

At the outset, the Chief welcomed the visiting team, noting that the visit reflects the ongoing commitment to strengthening security cooperation among GCC states. He highlighted that the visit comes in implementation of the directives of Their Highnesses and Excellencies the GCC Interior Ministers to exchange expertise and support joint efforts to protect regional and maritime borders.

He stressed that the security of GCC borders constitutes an integrated and indivisible unit, and that continued coordination among Gulf security authorities embodies unity of purpose and a shared destiny. He further underlined the importance of holding joint exercises, which have proven effective in enhancing readiness, unifying concepts, and raising operational efficiency in facing security challenges.

The Chief affirmed that such meetings contribute to operational coordination and building stronger bridges of cooperation and integration, thereby ensuring the continuation of the GCC’s path towards security, stability, and prosperity for the peoples of the region.

During the visit, the joint team toured the Coast Guard facilities, where they were briefed on the advanced sections and infrastructure, and reviewed the latest technologies and systems that support monitoring and surveillance, raising operational efficiency and strengthening rapid response to security challenges.
