The Northern Governor, Hassan Abdullah Al Madani, received the Chairman of the Bahrain Sickle Cell Society, Zakaria Al Khadim.
The Northern Governor commended the Society’s significant efforts in following up on the conditions of sickle cell patients, providing support and awareness, and enhancing community-oriented health programmes. He affirmed the Governorate’s keenness to strengthen cooperation and coordination with the Society under the Healthy Cities Programme, in a manner that contributes to launching qualitative initiatives and joint health projects that serve the Sustainable Development Goals and support health and community work.
For his part, the Chairman expressed appreciation to the Northern Governor for his continuous support, noting that such cooperation motivates continued service to sickle cell patients and the promotion of health initiatives that benefit society.
The meeting reviewed proposed initiatives and projects aimed at improving the quality of health services provided to patients, in addition to discussing ways to reinforce a culture of volunteering and to consolidate the principles of community partnership.
