A delegation from the Interior Ministry, headed by the Director of Administrative Affairs at the Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs’ Office, Brigadier Samer Al Baharna, took part in the fourth meeting of the joint committee of experts and representatives of Arab justice and interior ministries and relevant bodies, held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League.
The meeting discussed the draft Arab model law on protecting children from recruitment in armed conflicts. It also reviewed ways to strengthen regional legal and legislative frameworks to safeguard children’s rights and ensure a safe environment for their upbringing, in addition to enhancing joint Arab efforts in this field in support of international approaches aimed at protecting children’s rights and preventing their exploitation in armed conflicts.
