The Interior Ministry reaffirmed its ongoing efforts to protect marine resources and ensure sustainability, as the Coast Guard seized 392 illegal fishing traps (Garqoor) and 41 banned fishing nets in September.
The Coast Guard explained that the necessary legal procedures have been taken regarding the violations, noting that intensified inspection campaigns will continue to limit illegal fishing activities. The campaigns aim to ensure fishermen’s compliance with applicable laws and regulations to preserve Bahrain’s marine environment and resources.
