Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, paid a visit to Zayed International Airport in the United Arab Emirates to review the full passenger journey experience.
Accompanied by the Executive Director of the Digital Transformation Sector at the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security, Juma Abdullah Al Kaabi, the NPRA Undersecretary was briefed on the services provided by the National Advance Passenger Information Centre. He received a detailed presentation on national systems and operational practices in place, as well as their role in strengthening border security while ensuring smooth travel procedures.
The NPRA Undersecretary commended the advanced level reached by Abu Dhabi International Airport in this field, praising the efforts to develop digital solutions and smart systems. His visit also included Daleel Information Technology, a company specialising in designing and implementing early passenger screening systems. The company has carried out similar projects in the region in cooperation with government bodies and airlines, in line with ICAO standards and international best practices. A presentation highlighted the company’s applied solutions and experiences.
During the visit, the NPRA Undersecretary discussed areas of cooperation between the NPRA and the visited entities, aimed at exchanging expertise and developing integrated smart systems that enhance border security and streamline passenger procedures in accordance with international best practices.
