MOI In line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to launch this year’s Tree Week initiative, the Capital Governor Shaikh Khalid bin Hamoud Al Khalifa inaugurated a tree-planting project along Road 40 in Seef District, in cooperation with the Capital Municipality and Khaleeji Bank.
The event, attended by officials, included planting several trees to expand green spaces and enhance the area's visual appeal, contributing to the urban environment's improvement and the overall quality of life.
He affirmed the Capital Governorate’s commitment to supporting leading initiatives that promote environmental awareness and sustainability. He noted that such efforts are part of a comprehensive vision to make the capital a sustainable urban model, combining urban development with environmental preservation. He highlighted that these initiatives reinforce the Capital Governorate’s aesthetic identity and strengthen its position as a leading economic and tourism hub.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Southern Governor expressed his appreciation to Khaleeji Bank for its generous support and active participation in the success of the Road 40 tree-planting initiative. He stressed that public-private partnerships are essential for achieving sustainable development and enhancing social responsibility in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
