The Ministry of Interior announced that while Coast Guard patrols were carrying out security duties in the Fasht Al Adham area, a boat was detected engaging in shrimp fishing using prohibited equipment.
When personnel attempted to intercept the vessel, its crew tried to flee and collided with the patrol boat, causing one person to fall overboard and go missing at sea.
The Coast Guard stated that search operations for the missing individual began immediately in cooperation with the Police Aviation unit and are still ongoing. All necessary legal procedures are being taken in the case.
