The Ministry of Interior affirmed that the Coast Guard carried out a joint inspection campaign targeting several diving shops, in cooperation with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the Muharraq Governorate Police Directorate, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA). The campaign comes as part of joint efforts to enhance maritime security and safety, and to ensure that establishments comply with relevant laws and regulations.
The Coast Guard explained that the campaign aimed to verify the validity of legal licenses and ensure that equipment met safety standards, in addition to checking the status of workers and their official permits, thereby ensuring a regulated and safe working environment.
Also, it emphasised that these joint campaigns are carried out within the framework of cooperation and coordination among various security and regulatory entities, to raise compliance with legal requirements and promote maritime safety. It also noted that legal action was taken regarding the violations that were detected.
