The Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, met with a delegation from the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP), led by Jay Bernstein, as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise with specialised international institutions.
At the start of the meeting, the Chief welcomed the guests and briefed them on the internal security situation, affirming that the progress and development witnessed by Bahrain’s security system across various sectors are the result of the constant support and wise instructions of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. He noted that this support forms a key point in advancing development plans aimed at enhancing security and stability, and achieving the highest levels of readiness and efficiency.
He highlighted that the Interior Ministry continues to modernise police work by reinforcing community partnership and interaction with the public.

He also highlighted the Interior Ministry’s advanced national initiatives, during which the meeting reviewed Bahrain’s pioneering experience in implementing the Alternative Sentencing Law and the Open Prisons Initiative.
