The Deputy Interior Minister, Lt-General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel, headed Bahrain’s delegation to the 11th Meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee on Combating Corruption, held in Kuwait, with the participation of senior officials responsible for integrity protection and anti-corruption agencies in GCC countries.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy Interior Minister conveyed the greetings and appreciation of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to the participants, expressing sincere thanks and appreciation to Kuwait for its warm hospitality and excellent organisation. He commended the collective GCC efforts to enhance cooperation and unify positions in integrity protection and anti-corruption.
He affirmed that the ministerial committee serves as a key pillar supporting joint GCC action to safeguard national resources and reinforce the principles of transparency and integrity, in line with the directives of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC countries.
The meeting discussed several topics on its agenda, including the Draft Guide for Parallel Financial Investigations in Corruption Crimes, the Public Funds Protection System, the Draft Guide on the Liability of Legal Persons for Corruption Crimes, the Reference Mechanism for the Committee of Financial Investigation Experts, the GCC Excellence Award in Integrity and Anti-Corruption, the Memorandum of Understanding between the GCC General Secretariat and the International Anti-Corruption Academy, and the Joint GCC Anti-Corruption Strategy.
