His Excellency Minister of Interior General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received the Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Brigadier-General Ahmad Al Hajjar. The Deputy Interior Minister, Lt-General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel, attended the meeting.
HE Interior Minister welcomed the visit of the Lebanese official to participate in the 21st edition of the "Manama Dialogue," which has become an important international platform reflecting the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its active role, thanks to the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in supporting international stability and security.
He highlighted the importance of the strategic topics discussed at the "Manama Dialogue," which require enhanced joint action and coordinated efforts to confront challenges.
He continued that this underscores the active role of the Kingdom of Bahrain in serving the causes of security, peace, and stability in the region and the world, by providing a platform for the exchange of ideas, experiences, and effective opinions among decision-makers, thus forming a strong foundation for cooperation between countries in all fields.
HE the Interior Minister reviewed several community security projects in the Kingdom of Bahrain, including the National Plan to Promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Citizenship (Bahrainouna), which has taken significant steps to promote its national missions and objectives based on consolidating national belonging and principles through effective and advanced mechanisms based on community work and communication with all segments of society.
He also referred to the national and civilised project of alternative sentencing and the open prisons programme and their role in enhancing criminal justice. He noted that the royal vision formed the basis from which the project was launched, representing a civilised leap forward in the human rights record of the Kingdom of Bahrain, in accordance with the values and principles of the reform era of HM the King.
The two sides reviewed aspects of cooperation and coordination, in addition to discussing several security issues and developments in the regional and international arenas. HE the Interior Minister emphasised the importance of the close historical relations between the two countries, and the mutual keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation to ensure the protection of national achievements and strengthen regional security.
