MOI Permanent Tennis Committee organised the first Women’s Tennis Tournament to mark cancer awareness month, with the participation of 32 players representing the Ministry of Interior, the Bahrain Tennis Federation, and several academies in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the Permanent Tennis Committee, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, affirmed that organising the championship comes within the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening community partnership and promoting sports and social initiatives that contribute to raising health awareness and encouraging interest in public health. He pointed out that sports serve as an effective means to build individuals and promote a healthy lifestyle within the community.
The championship concluded with Captain Fatima Al-Zabi claiming victory in the singles category after defeating Captain Mai Al-Khal with a score of (6–1). In the doubles category, Captain Fatima Al-Zabi teamed up with Dalal Mohammed to secure a win against Captain Mariam Al Ansari and Captain Mai Al-Khal, finishing (6–4).
The event, which drew an impressive audience, also included a dedicated awareness and health corner focused on promoting cancer awareness. Participants received educational materials, medical guidance, and commemorative gifts.
