As part of the Interior Ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance national competencies and empower women in specialised fields, the Coast Guard, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Women Police, organised a graduation ceremony for the first batch of female police personnel who completed the Marine Sciences Course.
The Director-General of Women Police, Major-General Mona Abdulrahim, and Assistant Undersecretary for Planning and Organisation, Shaikha Mashael bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, attended the ceremony.
Participants in the course included trainees from the Special Security Force, the Royal Academy of Police, and the General Directorate of Ports Security. The advanced training covered a wide range of topics, including marine navigation skills, maritime safety and security, search and rescue operations, emergency response procedures, practical training on navigation maps and devices, and field applications at sea.
On this occasion, the Director-General of Women Police affirmed that the course represents a qualitative milestone in empowering Bahraini women in security. She noted that it is the first specialised training programme of its kind in the Kingdom of Bahrain dedicated to women in marine sciences. She added that it enhances women’s preparedness in the security sector and reflects the leadership’s confidence in their ability to perform various specialised duties.
She also praised the participants' commitment and high level of competence throughout the training, wishing them continued success in their professional careers.
