An athlete of the Interior Ministry powerlifting team Major Abdullah Abdulwahab Salmeen, won first place in the 140 kg Asian category, in addition to Asian 240 Bench Press in the Overall Champion Trophy at the World Powerlifting Championship for Professionals held in Thailand.
On this occasion, the President of the Public Security Sports Association, Brigadier Khalid Al Khayyat, expressed his appreciation for the continuous support provided by His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. He noted that this support is a key behind the Ministry’s sporting achievements.
He also highlighted the close follow-up of the Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, for the Ministry’s sports teams during local and international competitions.
He praised the accomplishment of athlete, stressing that this achievement reflects the competence and readiness of the Interior Ministry’s athletes and their commitment to attaining the best results, which reaffirm the distinguished status of Bahraini sports both locally and internationally.
