As part of strengthening community partnership, and in conjunction with the celebration of Bahraini Women’s Day 2025, the General Directorate of Civil Defence organised an awareness workshop on home safety at the Civil Defence School, with the participation of a number of women and housewives.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness about home safety procedures, introduce participants to proper ways of dealing with household fires, and highlight key preventive behaviours that help protect families and reduce accidents. It also sought to enhance knowledge on how to act during emergencies. In addition, practical training was provided on the use of fire extinguishers and how to handle gas and oil fires resulting from cooking.
The programme also included a comprehensive explanation of the causes of fires and how to avoid them at home, as well as methods for safe evacuation during emergencies.
