The Ministry of Interior, following the arrest of two Chinese nationals at Bahrain International Airport for stealing gold jewellery valued at approximately BD 50,000 from a residence, announced that the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science continued its search and investigation to identify other individuals involved.
The Ministry stated that these efforts led to the arrest of two additional suspects of the same nationality (Chinese) who were travelling on board an aircraft. They were taken off the plane and arrested after stolen items were found in their possession.
The General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science indicated that all legal procedures have been taken, and the suspects have been referred to the Public Prosecution.
