The General Directorate of Civil Defence organised a Tower Running stair-climb championship in a 50-storey building to enhance the physical and mental capabilities of Civil Defence personnel and increase their readiness to respond to emergencies, particularly in high-rise buildings.
The Director-General of Civil Defence, Brigadier Ali Mohammed Al Kubaisi, said the championship is part of the Directorate’s commitment to developing the capabilities of its personnel and promoting a culture of health and safety, thereby enhancing the efficiency of rescue and emergency operations.
During the championship, Maameer Civil Defence Centre secured first place, the Search and Rescue Team came second, and Mina Salman Civil Defence Centre placed third.
