The Chief of Police, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan received the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr Lulwa Al Showaiter and the Chief Executive of Government Hospitals, Dr Mariam Al Jalahma.
Interior Ministry Undersecretary, Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, and representatives of the relevant entities from the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Health and the Supreme Council of Health. The meeting follows the Cabinet’s decision to task the Ministry of Interior with coordinating with the Ministry of Health to explore further ways to develop national ambulance operations.
During the meeting, the Chief commended the level of cooperation among the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Health, and health institutions, with support and follow-up from the Supreme Council of Health, emphasising that integration across sectors is a key pillar of development and community service.
He also highlighted ongoing joint efforts between the two ministries to enhance service quality for citizens and residents and to strengthen emergency response readiness by delivering first aid to injured individuals until they reach a hospital for treatment. The meeting also discussed ways to develop national ambulance services and emergency medicine in cooperation with government hospitals and health centres.
