The Ministry of Interior announced that the Southern Governorate Police, in cooperation with the Child Protection in Cyberspace Unit at the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption, Economic and Electronic Security, have arrested an 18-year-old suspect for luring and exploiting two girls aged 14 and 15 via social media.
Following cases filed by the girls’ families, police immediately launched investigations, which led to identifying and arresting the suspect. It was found that he had impersonated a police personnel and was also wanted in connection with other security cases.
Legal procedures have been taken to referring the case to the Public Prosecution.
