Civil Defence Achievements Enhance Bahrain’s Regional and International Status

MOI

The General Directorate of Civil Defence has achieved several qualitative accomplishments at the local, Arab and regional levels, reflecting the continued support of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and the close follow-up of Chief of Police, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, in line with efforts to further develop the civil protection system and enhance the readiness and efficiency of Civil Defence services within the Ministry of Interior.
These achievements highlight the Kingdom of Bahrain's advanced position in safety and prevention, as the General Directorate of Civil Defence's institutional efforts have strengthened its presence at both the regional and international levels. In this context, the Directorate assumed the position of Vice President of the International Civil Defence Organisation, reflecting the international confidence placed in its capabilities and expertise.
The National Civil Protection Platform also obtained trusted reference accreditation at both the Arab and international levels, enabling it to serve as an approved source of information and public awareness guidance, and to support efforts to promote a culture of safety across society. In the field of training, the Civil Defence School was awarded American accreditation for its first-aid courses, contributing to the development of national competencies and enhancing emergency response capabilities.
In addition, the General Directorate of Civil Defence has maintained its ISO certification for the fifth consecutive time, reaffirming its commitment to the highest standards of quality and professionalism in institutional performance and operational development.
The General Directorate of Civil Defence affirmed that these achievements are part of an integrated development and modernisation programme, implemented in partnership with relevant entities, to further enhance the community's security and safety.
