His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa expressed his profound pride and appreciation for the Royal Order of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to designate 2026 as the Year of Isa Al Kabeer, in tribute to the founder of the modern state and the leader of institutional renaissance in Bahrain’s history.
He explained that this Royal initiative reflects HM the King's wise approach to reviving Bahrain’s modern history and preserving the national heritage, including the national project to revive Isa Grand Palace in Muharraq City. In this regard, he commended the support and follow-up given to this project by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, within the framework of the comprehensive development and progress witnessed by the Kingdom of Bahrain. He added that the era of His Greatness Isa Al Kabeer, Ruler of Bahrain and its Dependencies, was rich in principles and achievements that played a pivotal role in consolidating security and stability and laying the foundations of the modern national state, with its identity rooted in Arab and Islamic values and the noble traditions of the people of Bahrain.
HE the Interior Minister noted that His Greatness Isa Al Kabeer was the architect of Bahrain’s modern renaissance, and that HM the King continues the path and legacy of the forefathers, leading with enlightened thought and vision a pioneering journey that has established solid foundations for national development, elevated Bahrain’s civilisational standing, and strengthened the Kingdom’s reputation and leadership internationally.
He confirmed that the Year of Isa Al Kabeer is a significant national and historical occasion, representing core values and principles. It is demonstrated through tangible achievements and highlights pride in Bahrain's rich national heritage, including its political and national thought of this important era, both past and present.
