On the sidelines of his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain and his meeting with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Excellency Asif Ali Zardari, President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, received His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Pakistani President expressed his appreciation for HM the King's wise leadership and for his role in strengthening the close bilateral relations between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Pakistani President commended the efforts of HE the Interior Minister and his cooperation with his Pakistani counterpart in developing security cooperation and coordination between the two countries, within the framework of their shared commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation.
For his part, HE the Interior Minister expressed his appreciation for the positive outcomes of the Pakistani President's visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. He noted that the meeting between HM the King and HE the President of the brotherly Islamic Republic of Pakistan reflected the historical ties and close cooperation between the two nations. He also expressed his gratitude to HE the President of Pakistan for his commitment to enhancing collaboration and joint action between the two countries.
During the meeting, several community security programmes and topics that strengthen bilateral cooperation in security and drug enforcement were highlighted. An agreement was reached to continue coordinating efforts to confront the threats posed by organised crime and drugs, based on the established partnership between the two brotherly countries.
