His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received on Tuesday His Excellency Lebanon's Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Ahmad Al-Hajjar, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of several senior officials from the Interior Ministry.
After arriving at the Police Fort and performing the salute, HE the Interior Minister and his Lebanese counterpart proceeded to the meeting hall, where HE the Interior Minister delivered a speech in which he expressed his welcome to the brotherly visit of the Lebanese official and the accompanying delegation to their second home, the Kingdom of Bahrain. He expressed his hope that this visit would contribute to strengthening security cooperation and coordination within the framework of the relations that unite the two brotherly countries, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and his brother, His Excellency Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun. HE the Interior Minister emphasised the Kingdom of Bahrain’s firm stance towards brotherly Lebanon, which is based on supporting everything that preserves its security, stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity. He praised the ties that unite both countries and the keenness to develop and enhance them for the benefit of the common security.
During his speech, HE the Interior Minister pointed out that the joint discussions between the Ministries of Interior contribute to increasing cooperation and coordination in various fields of security work, to protect the security and stability of the two countries.
He stressed the importance of discussing common security challenges and taking the necessary measures regarding them within the framework of strengthening joint Arab security work. He expressed his wishes to HE the Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities and the accompanying delegation for a successful visit aimed at enhancing prospects for security cooperation and achieving common interests to maintain security and stability.
For his part, the Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities emphasised the deep-rooted ties of cooperation between the two brotherly countries. He noted his keenness to strengthen cooperation mechanisms, coordination, and the exchange of expertise between the Lebanese and Bahraini sides.
Following this, discussions commenced between the two sides, including several important security issues. The aim was to enhance cooperation and coordination across various security sectors and improve performance in addressing security challenges and the rapidly evolving regional and international landscape. The discussions also covered several topics of joint cooperation.
The Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities had arrived in the Kingdom of Bahrain earlier, where he was received at Bahrain International Airport by HE the Interior Minister and several senior officials from the Interior Ministry.
