The Chief Executive of the Financial Intelligence National Centre and Chair of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Committee, Shaikha May bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, chaired the committee’s seventh meeting, attended by committee members and representatives of the relevant authorities.
During the meeting, the agenda was approved, and key developments in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s joint mutual evaluation process conducted by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and the Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force (MENAFATF) were reviewed. The meeting also discussed the outcomes and recommendations of the technical compliance teams and the national risk assessment, as well as updates on risks related to money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing.
The meeting forms part of the committee’s ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of the national framework and develop institutional working mechanisms, reflecting the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to international standards in combating money laundering and terrorist financing.
