National Ambulance Centre Receives More Than 60,000 Emergency Medical Calls in 2025

MOI

The Ministry of Interior announced that the National Ambulance Centre received  60,635 emergency medical calls during 2025, covering various types of urgent medical cases. Ambulance crews responded by providing emergency aid and primary healthcare services through ambulance vehicles deployed across the Centre’s units in all governorates of the Kingdom of Bahrain, in addition to the motorcycle first responder service.
The service, which marked one year since its launch, has contributed significantly to faster access to emergency cases and more efficient patient preparation compared with conventional ambulances, particularly in narrow areas and during peak traffic congestion.
The National Ambulance Centre explained that the calls handled were classified across a range of cases, including resuscitation, road traffic accidents, fire-related incidents, childbirth cases, as well as other medical emergencies. This reflects the advanced level achieved by the Centre in managing emergency medical calls and is consistent with its attainment of international excellence accreditation in the Medical Priority Dispatch System (ProQA) from the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED), in recognition of its high standards of quality, efficiency and accurate case classification in accordance with approved protocols.
The Centre noted that these statistical indicators are a direct outcome of its ongoing developmental strategic plan, implemented year after year within the framework of the Government Programme, with close follow-up by the Ministry of Interior and in coordination with relevant health authorities. The aim is to further enhance ambulance and primary healthcare services as a core component of Bahrain’s comprehensive healthcare system.
The National Ambulance Centre further stated that 2025 witnessed geographical expansion of ambulance centres and response points across all governorates of the Kingdom, enabling wider community coverage and the efficient handling of a larger volume of emergency medical calls, while ensuring rapid, safe and proper response in line with internationally approved medical standards and protocols, and in coordination with emergency departments in government hospitals and relevant security entities.
Within the framework of community partnership, the National Ambulance Centre also contributed to securing and supporting various national activities and events through its extensive participation, embodying its national mission and highlighting its vital role, ongoing efforts and services provided to the community, in reinforcement of the principles of partnership and social responsibility.
