His Excellency Capital Governor Shaikh Khalid bin Hamoud bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, chaired the governorate’s security committee meeting. The meeting addressed several topics related to enhancing public safety and security, and reviewed efforts to protect the community and improve security and preventative services across the governorate.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed a presentation from a representative of the Coast Guard. The presentation highlighted the main tasks, primarily protecting the marine environment, conducting search and rescue operations, and ensuring the safety and security of the Kingdom of Bahrain's territorial waters by preventing illegal activities and protecting maritime borders.
The presentation also highlighted the advanced electronic equipment and technologies used by the Coast Guard to enhance its readiness and response to incidents and emergencies, as well as their efforts in awareness campaigns, monitoring, and inspection.
The attendees discussed the most prominent complaints and issues received from citizens and residents of a security nature, and reviewed the mechanisms for dealing with them and ways to address them in coordination with the competent authorities, in order to contribute to a rapid response to observations and to achieve the highest levels of security and community stability.
