The Chief of Police, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, attended the graduation ceremony of participants in a number of specialised maritime training courses organised by the Maritime Training Wing of the Coast Guard. The courses were attended by personnel from the Coast Guard, the General Directorate of Civil Defence, the Bahrain Defence Force, and the National Guard, as well as participants from Saudi Arabia and Oman.
At the outset of the ceremony, the Chief affirmed that the organisation of specialised maritime courses falls within the framework of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa's keenness to enhance readiness and raise the efficiency of security and military personnel in accordance with the highest professional standards. This contributes to developing field capabilities and strengthening integration and coordination among various security and military entities at both local and regional levels.
He noted that specialised training programmes play a vital role in academically and practically qualifying participants, refining their technical and leadership skills, and enabling them to apply their knowledge effectively and deal with various conditions and challenges in maritime environments with high efficiency.
The specialised maritime courses included the Surface Officers Course, which aims to qualify officers with comprehensive knowledge of deck operations, search and investigation procedures, and relevant legal aspects. It also included the Boat Commanders Course, designed to prepare and graduate trainees capable of commanding vessels and operating various maritime navigation systems. In addition, the Joint Foundational Diving Course aimed to elevate participants to a professional level in diving and search-and-rescue operations, enhance physical fitness and endurance, and strengthen their ability to face operational challenges while performing their duties.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Chief honoured the participants in the specialised courses, commending the Coast Guard for preparing and implementing these high-quality programmes and for its commitment to providing an advanced training environment that raises efficiency and enhances operational capabilities. He urged them to continue their path of development and excellence in performance.
He also welcomed the participation of personnel from the brotherly GCC countries and expressed his aspiration to further strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise in future engagements.
