Chief of Police Attends Sports Day Event

The Chief of Police, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, attended the Sports Day event organised by the Police Sports Association, in the presence of several senior officers and officials from the Ministry of Interior.

On this occasion, the Chief expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his continuous support of sports and athletes in Bahrain. He also conveyed his appreciation for the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and his keenness to support initiatives and sporting events that enhance the standing of national sports.

He commended the generous initiatives of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, in the youth and sports sectors, which have established exemplary foundations and a sustainable approach towards progress and achievement. He also highlighted the continued follow-up of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and his role in developing the sports system and supporting programmes and initiatives aimed at empowering athletes and enhancing their competitiveness.

The Chief pointed to the notable progress achieved by the Ministry of Interior in the sports field, with its personnel securing numerous medals and accomplishments in regional and international championships. He affirmed that these successes come as a result of the support and close follow-up of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and his continuous keenness to advance sports standards and enhance physical fitness programmes for Ministry personnel.

He also praised the valued efforts of the Police Sports Association and its effective contributions in promoting sports culture and physical fitness concepts among Ministry personnel, which positively reflect on readiness and performance efficiency.

During the event, the Chief toured the accompanying health exhibition, visited the shooting range to follow up on shooting competitions, and inspected the starting platform of the running race. He also observed several competitions dedicated to the children of martyrs, including tug-of-war and CrossFit exercises, commending the level of organisation and participation.

At the conclusion of the event, the Chief honoured the recipients of international sports achievements for 2025 who secured first and second place, as well as those who achieved first place at the local level, in recognition of their excellence and honourable representation of the Kingdom in various sporting forums.
