In the presence of His Highness Southern Governor Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Southern Governorate organised a Sports Day event in cooperation with the Police Sports Association at the Ministry of Interior. The event included a series of sports competitions and activities and was attended by Deputy Southern Governor Colonel Hamad Mohammed Abdullah Al Khayat, as well as members of the governorate's employees and residents.
On this occasion, HH the Southern Governor emphasised the governorate's active role in organising and hosting various sports and community events. He noted that promoting sports plays a vital role in enhancing public health and achieving community well-being. He commended the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), in launching programmes, activities, and events.
The sports day began with a marathon walk. HH the Southern Governor then honoured the winners in each sport for both genders.
He also congratulated the participating entities in the sports day, including the Police Sports Association and several other organisations. He even honoured the referees and those involved in organising the event, praising the active role of the participating entities and their cooperation in making this year's sports day a success.
