MOI Undersecretary: Bahrain Sports Day is a Pillar for Promoting National Sport and Enhancing Competitiveness

Interior Ministry Undersecretary Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa affirmed that Bahrain Sports Day represents a fundamental pillar in promoting national sport by instilling a culture of positive competition, refining athletes’ capabilities, and enhancing physical and mental readiness, thereby contributing to achievements that raise the Kingdom of Bahrain’s profile in various sporting arenas.
He noted that allocating an annual day for sports activities reflects the interest of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in advancing sports in the Kingdom and his keenness to support initiatives aimed at building an integrated sports system capable of developing national talents and strengthening their competitive presence. He also highlighted the close follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and his commitment to implementing programmes and projects that provide a supportive environment for sport and elevate performance standards across various sectors.
This came during the Undersecretary’s attendance at Bahrain Sports Day activities organised by the Ministry, with the participation of senior officers, officials, and personnel. The events featured a variety of sporting activities reflecting a spirit of enthusiasm and active engagement.
He emphasised that Bahrain Sports Day embodies the integration of official and community efforts in supporting the sports movement, contributing to the development of physical skills and reinforcing the values of discipline and teamwork. He affirmed that investment in national sport is an investment in the nation’s future and the sustainability of its progress.
He added that engaging in sport enhances public health and disease prevention, positively impacting performance efficiency and productivity. He underscored that physical fitness and health are essential foundations in building a strong society capable of achievement and competition.
He further noted that the wide participation witnessed during Sports Day reflects growing community awareness of the importance of sport in honing abilities and fostering initiative and perseverance, in line with national efforts to build a more dynamic and competitive society.
